CASCFEN, Baku, 03 July 2017 – The Central Asian and Southern Caucasian Freedom of Expression Network (CASCFEN) has conducted a seminar in Saatli District School No: 1 in the framework of the project titled “Optimization of relations of education workers with media”.

Acting with opening speech Azer Hasret, CASCFEN chairman thanked the NGO Council for the provided support. He thanked Saatli District Authorities and the school`s staff as well.

Afterwards CASCFEN chairman has noted that some people in Azerbaijan are misusing mass media and especially they create discomfort for school workers. In such a situation school staff members and management do not know how to conduct with media. And this situation creates an outcome where those who misuse journalism keep under scare the teachers.

“Our projects goal is to help you to learn the rules of conduct with media people. If you learn these rules not any “journalist” can trouble you”, – has said Azer Hasret.

Then an expert of the project Sevda Askerova acted with speech and explained some clauses of the laws regarding mass media. An expert has noted that if the education workers can learn mass media laws quite enough those misusing journalism can`t create problems for them.

“We are trying to involve more and more education workers to the process of enlightenment in this direction. If this happens no any “journalist” can create discomfort for you”, – has noted Sevda Askerova.

Nadir Azeri, an editor of “Yeni Azerbaycan” daily and CASCFEN vice chairman in his turn noted that no any normal media worker blackmail education workers, none of them prevent them from fulfilling their duties.

“All those who try to hurt you – teachers are absolutely misusing mass media. These people do not have any ties with real media. In most cases they do not have university education. They travel around and blackmail people in order to get bribes. Naturally, if you know your rights enough those people will not be a cause of trouble for you”, – said Nadir Azeri.

Many questions were answered in the seminar which was followed with teachers` active participation. The participants have noted that they got quite enough useful material from the seminar.

At the end of the seminar the certificates were submitted to the participants.
